Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Addressing life's stressors, anxiety and mood disorders.

We all experience periods of hardship and difficulty. However, when your/your child's distress reaches a level that it is impacting daily functioning, whether it be academics, social life, the home environment, or the general feeling of wellness, it is likely time to seek professional help. Cognitive behavioral therapy seeks to explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Strategies are employed to address faulty or unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors that are causing and exacerbating one's distress. Additionally, the individual is helped to develop practical coping strategies to manage their fears, anxiety, sadness, and depression. Depending on the patient's age, parents and guardians may be asked to take an active role in supporting their child in making changes and utilizing newly learned coping strategies in daily life.
